EXPERIENCE

Senior Designer

This Way Up Design, 2020-2023

After working for a year as a Middleweight Designer at This Way Up, I was promoted to Senior Designer where I became the lead designer for brands such as Nurishh, Nairn’s and Kericho.

The studio specialises in ‘designing for a healthier future,’ where I had the opportunity to work on brands that shared my values towards designing for positive change.

One of my key achievements here, was pitching the creative work to the CEO and senior global team for Nurishh, at the Bel Group, to win and secure future work. I also developed the designs for some incredible award-winning projects such as Potts’ cooking sauces. This is where we ditched the pouch to embrace the recyclability of the can with a bold and exciting design, securing a Bronze Pentaward and Gold FAB award.

Throughout my three years at Springetts, I progressed from a Design Intern, to a Junior Designer, through to a Middleweight Designer in 2019.

A key highlight here was the opportunity to work on the brand creation for Purely Organic Eggs, as it was the very first brand in the UK to hold the Carbon Neutral Partner logo. It was a pleasure to create a brand with strong environmental values at the core of the brand’s story.

At Springetts, I was involved in all aspects of the design process: from Strategy to Idea Generation, from Design Development to the Reviewing of Artwork for a multitude of global brands such as McVities, Kettle Chips, Rubicon and Maxibon.

HOBBIES

Drawing

In my spare time, I enjoy creating detailed drawings with biro or pencil. I like the challenge of capturing the finer details in order to create a realistic portrayal of the subject. My favourite subjects to draw are those found in nature such as flowers, plants and birds.

Running

I am a member of a running club, meeting three times a week to explore new running routes across the Cotswolds. I enjoy meeting new people with a shared interest of running and pushing myself to achieve new goals.

Walking

When I hang up the trainers, I swap them for walking boots and enjoy spending time outdoors at a slower pace. I love walking in nature particularly around forests and lakes and have been known to start hiking at 4:30am in order to catch the sunrise.
